A total of 21 horses have been declared for Sunday’s €100,000 Tattersalls Ireland George Mernagh Memorial Sales Bumper at Fairyhouse. The race is confined to horses that have been offered or sold at the 2024 Tattersalls Ireland Store Sales. KOPEK DES BORDES made a sparkling racecourse debut in this race 12 months ago, and his trainer Willie Mullins will be hoping for a repeat with one of his five representatives. The most expensive purchase of Mullins’ declared runners is BOEDIC, a €175,000 recruit from Creighmore Stables by Harold Kirk and his trainer at the Derby Sale. Patrick Mullins has opted to partner the Michael Feeley-owned SUNSHINEWAY, a son of Galiway who was purchased for €170,000 from John Bleahen’s Lakefield Farm by Peter and Ross Doyle at the Derby Sale. Owners Gigginstown House Stud won this race with the three-time Grade 1 winner BRIGHTERDAYSAHEAD in 2023, and they will be represented by BOEDIC, ELIODAM and LORD TOBIN. BOEDIC was sold by Creighmore Stables to Harold Kirk and Willie Mullins for €175,000. ELIODAM is a son of No Risk At All and was sold to Harold Kirk and Willie Mullins by Kilbeg Stables for €125,000 at the Derby Sale, while LORD TOBIN was purchased from Hugh Bleahen’s Clifton Farm by Gordon Elliott Racing for €85,000. Gavin Cromwell’s LE TATOUE MADRIK is owned by Chris Jones and has an interesting pedigree as his dam is a half-sister to this season’s Grade 2 Finale Hurdle winner NIETZSCHE HAS. The son of Cokoriko was sold by Marie Harding’s Glen Stables to Kevin Ross Bloodstock for €115,000 at the Derby Sale. LE TATOUE MADRIK was a €115,000 purchase from Glen Stables by Kevin Ross Bloodstock. Eddie and Patrick Harty have declared BARLEY LANE, a son of Sholokhov who was purchased for €50,000 from Rathbarry Stud by Peter and Ross Doyle. Owned by Fearghal and Bronagh Eastwood, he hails from the family of the Harty’s Grade 1 winner CONEY ISLAND. I’M SLIPPY was purchased by Robert Tyner from Timmy Hillman’s Castledillon Stud for €70,000 at the Derby Sale. The son of Maxios is from the family of a French Grade 2 winner and will be partnered by Josh Williamson. Stuart Crawford has enjoyed success with Tattersalls Ireland graduates down through the years, and he will saddle LOOK ME, another Derby Sale graduate from Clifton Farm and purchased by Highflyer Bloodstock for €45,000.
