TATTERSALLS IRELAND’S YOUNG GUNS DOMINATE AINTREE ON DAY 2
THISTLECRACK was sold on two occasions at Tattersalls Ireland. Firstly at as a foal at the 2008 November National Hunt Sale when being sold by Cobhall Court Stud for €32,000 to John McDonald. He was then sold as a three-year-old at the 2011 August National Hunt Sale to his owner John Snook for €43,000 by Derrymore House.
In a highly competitive renewal of the Grade 2 Weatherbys Champion Bumper, the first three home were representatives of Tattersalls Ireland with Derby Sale graduate BARTERS HILL getting the better of Bellshill and Potters Corner, both November National Hunt Sale graduates, in second and third respectively. Owned by “Circle Of Friends” BARTERS HILL, who is unbeaten on his four outings, made the running and pulled clear from the field to win the contest.
BARTERS HILL was sold as a three-year-old at the 2013 Derby Sale by Rahinston Farm and Stud on behalf of his breeder, the Late Lady Jennifer Fowler for €16,000 to Highflyer Bloodstock and his trainer Ben Pauling.
