TATTERSALLS IRELAND GRADUATES PROVIDE AP MCCOY WITH A WEEKEND TO REMEMBER
Derby Sale graduate MR MOLE avoided an incident packed race and showed great improvement when landing the Grade 2 Betfair Price Rush Chase at Newbury on Saturday. Not considered a contender before the race, trainer Paul Nicholls is now considering The Champion Chase as a target for the son of Great Pretender.
MR MOLE was consigned by Mountbrown Farm at the 2011 Derby Sale and was sold to agent Tom Malone for €50,000.
The feature race on an exciting Leopardstown card on Sunday, the Grade 1 Hennessy Gold Cup was dominated by Tattersalls Ireland with graduates taking the first four placings. It was a dream result for the partnership of AP McCoy and JP McManus with the former Galway Plate winner CARLINGFORD LOUGH landing the contest ahead of rivals and fellow Tattersalls Ireland graduates Foxrock, Lord Windermere and Boston Bob.
CARLINGFORD LOUGH was sold as a foal at the 2006 November National Hunt Sale by his breeder Kenilworth House Stud to John O’Byrne for €80,000.
Inspections for the 2015 Derby Sale have commenced. Tattersalls Ireland are still accepting applications and you can nominate your horse by visiting the Tattersalls Ireland website up to March 13th.
