Tattersalls Ireland graduate CONEY ISLAND wins Grade 1 Drinmore Novice Chase

CONEY ISLAND opened his chasing account with a win at the highest level – the Grade 1 Drinmore Novice Chase at Fairyhouse. A contest previously won by a strong calibre of horses including the ill-fated and much regarded Derby Sale graduate NO MORE HEROES, JP McManus’s charge, only a five-year-old, won the race with ease and confirmed by his trainer Eddie Harty, the son of Flemensfirth will now head for the Leopardstown for either the Grade 1 Novice Chase at Christmas or February.  

CONEY ISLAND is a graduate of the November National Hunt Sale. He was purchased in 2011 as a foal by John O’Byrne for €34,000 from Yellowford Farm on behalf of his breeder Mr. Pat Tobin.
