Tattersalls Ireland Breeze Up Sale Catalogue Now Online

250 juveniles have been catalogued for the Tattersalls Ireland Breeze Up Sale

The catalogue for the 2025 Tattersalls Ireland Breeze Up Sale can now be viewed online at www.tattersalls.ie.

250 two-year-olds have been catalogued for the sale, which will take place on Thursday 22nd and Friday 23rd May, with copies of the catalogue available from Tattersalls Ireland and Tattersalls Ireland representatives from Tuesday 8th April.

The sale will take place on the eve of the Tattersalls Guineas Festival at The Curragh, with horses breezing from 8:30am on Thursday 22nd May, and the sale commencing at 10:00am on Friday 23rd May.

The sale has produced a strong blend of precocious, ready to race juveniles, while also gaining a reputation for offering a later maturing breeze-up type. Among last year’s graduates was COTO DE CAZA who improved through her juvenile campaign and culminated with a fine win in the Group 3 Cornwallis Stakes at Newmarket.

Group 3 Cornwallis Stakes winner Coto De Caza is a graduate of the 2024 Tattersalls Ireland Breeze Up Sale.

The Tattersalls Ireland Breeze Up Sale was recognised as the most successful of all the Breeze Up Sales last year, given the vibrant trade which yielded a record turnover and the highest clearance rate of all the Breeze Up Sales in 2024.

Classic placed NEW ENERGY landed a blow for older graduates of this Breeze Up Sale, when the former Sheila Lavery-trained inmate won a valuable Group 3 at the Caulfield Spring Finale meeting.

Other graduates of note from this sale include PURPLE LILY who was Group 1 placed in the Irish Oaks last season, and will hold strong claims in top tier races across this current season. LETSBEFRANKABOUTIT was another recent stakes winner having won the Group 3 Round Tower Stakes, while KAIRYU won her first two racecourse starts, including the Group 3 Anglesey Stakes, within weeks of being purchased.

The catalogue features siblings to a number of Stakes winners and performers including a ST MARK’S BASILICA half-brother to the dual Group 1 winner LIMATO (Lot 43). A COTAI GLORY half-sister to Irish Oaks third PURPLE LILY (Lot 27) will be offered, along with an ALKUMAIT half-brother to Group 1 Caulfield Cup winner DENY KNOWLEDGE (Lot 228). Other well-related siblings include a NO NAY NEVER half-brother to Group 2 Prix du Mugnet winner DUHAIL (Lot 206), and a KODI BEAR own-brother to Group 1 Epsom Oaks runner-up MYSTERY ANGEL (Lot 8).

The off-spring of some well-related mares are also catalogued, including a MEDAGLIO D’ORO colt out of a half-sister to multiple US Group 1 winner IMPROBABLE (Lot 187). A WOOTTON BASSETT colt out of an own-sister to listed winner ALBARAAH (Lot 226), and a KAMEKO filly out of a winning own-sister to smart stayer NAYEF ROAD (Lot 15) will be offered. Another WOOTTON BASSETT colt out of a listed winner and own-sister Group 2 winner GUSTAV KLIMT and Group 3 winner WONDERFULLY (Lot 82) features, while a daughter of WOOTTON BASSETT out of a winning own-sister to three-time Group 1 winner ALICE SPRINGS (Lot 135) is another well-bred juvenile. A NIGHT OF THUNDER colt out of a winning own sister to US Group 1 winner DIGITAL AGE (Lot 38) features, while an ARDAD filly out of Group 3 Fred Darling Stakes winner PUFF (Lot 176) is among those being offered.

Buyers seeking out additional incentives can note that 39 lots are entered in the 2026 Swedish Derby and Oaks Series, while eight two-year-olds are eligible for French Owners’ Premiums.

In total, the progeny of 88 different sires have been catalogued, with STARMAN represented the strongest numerically with 20 two-year-olds. The stock of SIOUX NATION was popular 12 months ago, with a daughter of the Coolmore stallion attracting the top price of €370,000, while Coto De Caza was purchased for €270,000. In total there’s 18 juveniles by the Coolmore stallion, while COTAI GLORY, KODI BEAR, SUPREMACY and MEHMAS are also strong numerically.
