Tattersalls Ireland announce the cancellation of the 2021 February NH Sale
Following yesterday’s announcement by the Irish Government, Tattersalls Ireland regrets to announce the cancellation of the February NH Sale which was due to take place on Wednesday 7 April. Having explored all possible options to hold the sale, Tattersalls Ireland has been informed by the Department of Agriculture that staging a bloodstock sale in Ireland under the current circumstances will not be permitted.
Lots catalogued for the February NH Sale will be offered a place in the yearling section of the illustrious November NH Sale, which provided vendors with extraordinary results last year. Headlining the yearling section in 2020 was the Ballyreddin Stud consigned son of Blue Bresil who was knocked down for €80,000 to Ballincurrig Stud.
Announcing the cancellation, Tattersalls Ireland CEO Simon Kerins said:
“It is extremely disappointing to have been informed by the Department of Agriculture that we are not permitted to hold the rescheduled February NH Sale. We explored every avenue to hold the sale and to offer vendors the chance to sell their stock, but unfortunately it is not possible to hold a physical sale while the country remains in Level 5 lockdown. We have received positive feedback from vendors who understand why we needed to make this decision and we would like to thank our clients for working with us and remaining incredibly patient through these turbulent times.
