Superb selection of BIDPOINT horses on offer following a busy Point to Point weekend
4yo Gelding by Craigsteel – Form A Circle
This Tyrella winner on his debut showed himself a very tough sort. He was left with the lead three out and showed an excellent attitude to fend off all challengers all the way to the line. He has the mentality and ability to win a lot of races.
4yo Gelding by Flemensfirth – Ifyoucouldseemenow
An excellent effort from this youngster who will have learned a lot from this effort. He was staying on strongly all the way to the line when second at Tyrella. He made a couple of novice errors but did well to recover and battle back in the closing stages and get involved.
4yo Gelding by Midnight Legend – As Was
A very encouraging debut from this youngster who finished third in a competitive Tyrella Maiden. Sure to come on from the run and develop into a decent sort.
6yo Mare by Winged Love – Isn’t She Gorgeous
This mare made a likeable impression on her debut when third last season and then ran two more solid races before the end of season. She progressed to take this Tyrella Maiden on her seasonal return and looks to be building on the promise she showed last season.
4yo Mare by Milan – Cousin Kizzy
Ran very well on her debut when not beaten far in a Geldings Maiden at Rathcannon in the Autumn. On her only other start since then, she ran nicely here at Tyrella to finish a very encouraging fourth.
5yo Gelding by Mamool – Linara
This five-year-old finished a very solid third at Tyrella and is going in the right direction to suggest he can open his account in the near future. He is a very straightforward sort who will provide plenty of entertainment to new connections.
5yo Gelding by Tikkanen – Star Trix
An interesting sort who was well supported in the market and, but for a race ending mistake could well have delivered. He has much track experience and given the market support is clearly pleasing connections at home. A very versatile option here following his fourth at Tyrella.
7yo Gelding by Flemensfirth – Cecelia’s Charm
His win at Tyrella was his third Point to Point win and he looks a real fun type. He was somewhat fortunate on this occasion but his consistency and attitude made sure he was in position to take advantage when the opportunity arose. He is in top form and sure to be a real fun sort in Point to Points going forward. It is worth noting that this was a race run at a very strong gallop and in a fast time in spite of worsening ground conditions.
6yo Gelding by Tikkanen – Clydeside
Finishing third at Tyrella, this inexperienced maiden came up against a track proven winner and a Point to Point winning runner up. It seems certain on this evidence that he can drop into maiden company with this experience and put to good use make a strong bid for maiden glory.
5yo Gelding by Gamut – Daras Mayo
Showed a lot of promise on his debut at Ballinaboola and stepped up for this educational effort to win at Borris on only his second start. Saw off the consistent Chase Me and looks an improving sort with a lot to offer.
5yo Gelding by Beneficial – Up A Dee
Ran a cracker on his debut finishing third in a very competitive maiden at Borris where fifteen ran. Will be very hard to beat next time having gone so close here.
5yo Gelding by King’s Theatre – Silver Proverb
Showed a good level of improvement when finishing second on only his second outing in a Borris Maiden. The winner had strong placed form from only one week earlier.
6yo Gelding by Beat All – Osocool
Form suggests he is progressing into a maiden winning sort. He has been fourth and third on his last two starts including last Sunday at Borris. Half brother to Stewarts House, Supreme Builder and Coolking, so pedigree points to him going much further.
6yo Gelding by Gamut – Mageney
Having finished third on debut at Tyrella, this fellow stepped up to go closer when second at Borris. Beaten less than six lengths on his second start he looks set to open his account very soon.
8yo Gelding by Classic Cliché – Zander Gander
Consistent sort who is knocking on the door to win a maiden. He has been second and third while he finished fourth last Sunday. Often novice ridden he will remain competitive in these races and surely open his account soon.
4yo Gelding by Lucarno – Molly Duffy
A very impressive winner of his maiden at Lismore on his debut. The race which has produced horses such as Florida Pearl and could have produced another top class sort here. He is beautifully bred and can be expected to go all the way to the top.
4yo Gelding by Winged Love – Bonny Rathlin
A good scopey type who ran well on debut here in a competitive Lismore Maiden. He is sure to develop into a top notch staying chaser.
5yo Gelding by Kayf Tara – Gaye Sophie
Ran a cracker in a top class Maiden at Oldtown on his debut when second to the highly regarded Derrinross. He showed much improvement for that outing and won impressively at Lismore. Exceptionally well bred from the family of Simon and he has a big future ahead of him.
8yo Gelding by Old Vic – Phillis Hill
Won a decent Thurles bumper before being sent to Point to Points for Open Races. Ran a big race on Sunday when beaten only six lenghts by B L Swagger and Syndey Paget and looks one who will be a decent Open horse from now on.
6yo Gelding by Marienbard – Oscartrainer
A very consistent maiden who is very close to opening his account. He was third at Killeagh before running out of room when in contention at Durrow and on Sunday he was second at Lismore to Of The Hoof beaten only five lenghts. Looks a surefire maiden winner with the experience to progress further.
4yo Gelding by Shantou – Have At It
The winner of what appeared to be a high class maiden at The Pigeons. The front pair quickened fifteen lengths clear of their rivals and this fellow gained the verdict over the well regarded Gigginstown runner up Eviscerating. Top pedigree, top performance and in all likelihood a top class horse in the making.
4yo Gelding by Yeats – Lauderdale
Has now two decent runs to his name. Finished fourth on debut at Durrow and stepped up to be third at The Pigeons behind two very useful youngsters. Will enjoy success before long and looks a sound honest type.
5yo Gelding by King's Theatre – Shannon Rose
Exceptionally bred sort who was third on his debut at The Pigeons. He is out of a winning mare and a brother to Minella Foru. Ticks every box for likely improvement and could be one to progress all the way based on his pedigree also.
5yo Mare by Beneficial – Nicats Daughter
Consistent mare who has run well in very good company and stepped up to win at The Pigeons. She is a half sister to two winners in Hard To Swallow and Truckers Darling and looks set to embark on a track career from here.
