SUCCESS FOR TATTERSALLS IRELAND IN GRADE 1 POWERS GOLD CUP

Owned by Brian Sweetnam, trained by Michael Winters and partnered by Barry Geraghty, the son of Agent Bleu was sold as a yearling at the 2006 November National Hunt Sale by Spratstown Stud for €32,000 to TA O’Brien.

The renewal of the €100,000 Tattersalls Ireland Sales Bumper in memory of the late George Mernagh was won by the 50/1 shot MOON RACER storming home seven and a half lengths clear of Sir Scorpion in second and Turcagua in third.

MOON RACER, owned, trained and purchased by Co. Waterford man Michael Ronayne and ridden by MJ Lynch was sold at the 2013 August National Hunt Sale by Mr F Jordan for €5,000 and won a pot of €59,000 for his victory.
