Strong opening day of the Tattersalls Ireland November National Hunt Sale
The Tattersalls Ireland November National Hunt Sale got off to a strong start with a top price of €85,000 for a foal, the highest price achieved for a National Hunt foal in 2020 to date, further complemented by an aggregate of €2,167,000, a median of €8,200, an improved average of €12,526 (+2%) and a strong clearance rate of 75% (+9%).
Headlining the yearling section was the Ballyreddin Stud consigned son of Blue Bresil. The gelding related to the useful DE VALIRA and VALIRAMIX was offered by John Dwan’s operation. Michael Moore of Ballincurrig Bloodstock claimed bidding honours and Lot 32 was knocked down for €80,000.
The star of the day was the April born colt by Getaway out of Princess Mairead. A family full of promise, the colt, consigned by Spikle Stud, is a half-brother to the five-time winner KILDISART and from the further family of Grade 1 winner RATHVINDEN. The stunning individual was knocked down to Timmy Hillman for €85,000 making him the highest priced National Hunt foal of 2020 to date (Lot 205 pictured first).
