Siblings to Altior, Faugheen, Identity Thief, Shattered Love and Relegate all feature in one of the best Derby Sale catalogues ever
With more Grade 1 winners than any other store sale this season, Tattersalls Ireland's eagerly anticipated Derby Sale catalogue is now online. Derby Sale graduates have been celebrating at every major National Hunt Festival this season.
Festival victories at Leopardstown, Cheltenham, Aintree, Fairyhouse and Punchestown came from Edwulf, Shattered Love, Relegate, Bel Ami de Sivola, Finian's Oscar, Lalor, Black Op, Identity Thief, Thomas Patrick and Wounded Warrior make the Derby Sale the obvious choice to source winning National Hunt horses of the highest standard.
466 lots are catalogued over the original two-day format of the sale which takes place on Wednesday 27 and Thursday 28 June starting at 10.30am each day. The catalogue is possibly one of the best ever boasting pedigrees featuring siblings to high-class Grade 1 winners headlined by Altior (below left), Faugheen (below right), Dodging Bullets, Simonsig, The New One, Shattered Love and Irish Cavalier. There are also siblings to Relegate, Go Native, Line Ball, Barcadys, Cilaos Emery, Don't Touch It, Lakaneen Leader, Prince of Scars, Benefficient, Monalee, Tell Us More, Rogue Angel, Sublimity, Nacarat and Coney Island.
With a catalogue of this calibre, all sought-after sires are featured and include 31 lots by 2017/18 champion sire Flemensfirth along with progeny by Presenting, Milan, Kayf Tara, Oscar, Westerner, Midnight Legend, Stowaway, Shantou, Kapgarde, Shirocco, Doyen, Al Namix, Walk In The Park, Fame And Glory, Getaway, Jeremy and Malinas, naming just a selection.
All horses catalogued in the Derby Sale are eligible for the €100,000 Tattersalls Ireland George Mernagh Memorial Sales Bumper in 2019. The 2018 renewal of the race went to the Noel Meade trained Pat's Pick in the colours of Mrs P. Sloan who was sold by Kieran Lennon's Springhill Stud for €62,000 to Kevin Ross at last year's sale.
Hard copies of the catalogue will be available at the Tattersalls Ireland office from Monday 14 May.
