There was further stakes success for the September Yearling Sale as Anshoda landed the Group 3 Prestige Fillies’ Stakes at Goodwood. The Group 3 win for Anshoda made it two stakes victories in just two days for its two-year-old graduates, with Cool Hoof Luke having won the Group 2 Gimcrack Stakes on Friday.

The David Loughnane-trained two-year-old filly was making it two wins from three starts, and displayed strong battling qualities to defeat a field of six rivals, all of whom were previous winners.

A daughter of Inns Of Court, Anshoda made a successful debut at Lingfield in June, before finishing an excellent second in the Listed Star Stakes at Sandown last month.

She is owned by Team Valor LLC & Gary Barber, and holds entries in the Group 2 Rockfel Stakes and Group 1 Fillies’ Mile later this season.

She was purchased at the 2023 September Yearling Sale from Mountain View Stud by Rodrigo Goncalves and Barry Nolan for €24,000.

A Starman half-sister to Anshoda will be offered as Lot 709 in the September Yearling Sale.

Another September Yearling Sale graduate to claim a valuable prize at the weekend was Sir Busker. William Knight’s charge took the Finale Heritage Handicap, the concluding race of the York Ebor Festival.

It was seventh career victory for the eight-year-old who was adding to high profile wins in the 2022 Group 2 York Stakes and 2020 Royal Hunt Cup, and takes his career earnings to over €700,000.

He was purchased at the September Yearling Sale from Ballyvolane Stud by Kern/Lillingston Association.

The 2024 September Yearling Sale will take place on the 24th and 25th of September, with Part II taking place on 26th September.
