For the first time in 23 years, all three 2,000 Guineas winners went head to head and it was Al Shaqab’s GALILEO GOLD who produced a dazzling performance to win the feature contest, the Group 1 St. James’s Palace Stakes. Hugo Palmer’s Paco Boy colt, who claimed Classic success in the 2,000 Guineas in Newmarket in May, out-shone all other contenders, travelled beautifully throughout the race and added the Group 1 to his Classic credentials.
GALILEO GOLD was sold to Amanda Skiffington at the 2014 September Yearling Sale for €33,000 by Donnellys Well.
Inspections for Europe’s Most Progressive Yearling Sale, the September Yearling Sale, are now drawing to a close with demand for places at an all-time high which bodes well for another successful renewal of the sale in 2016.
