QUALITY STORES & EXCITING HORSES IN TRAINING ON OFFER AT THE AUGUST NH SALE
The session includes the exciting NH Flat race winners Triumph Davis (Flemensfirth), a 5 length winner at Limerick, and Dubh Eile (Definite Article), who won at Gowran Park by 4 lengths.
There is also the impressive five-year-old mares’ maiden point-to-point winners Subbys Daughter (Mountain High), who has finished second and then won at Necarne on her two completed starts from three runs, and Syddan Rose (Desert King), a winner at Oldcastle on her sole start to date.
Those with proven maiden form include Stow Hill (Stowaway), who finished second in a four-year-old maiden and is a half-brother to Grade 2 winner Benefit Night, Big Bad John (Vinnie Roe), third at Ballybunion on his only start to date, and Beat The Index, a half-brother brother to Grade 1 winner Muirhead who has been placed on all his starts after pulling up first time out.
There is also Silvogans Hook (Atraf), a close second last time out Kinsale, the Bumper fifth, Our Alana (Kalanisi), Stonefield (Cloudings), who has finished third three times from six starts, and The Flying Doc (Dr Massini), who has been placed over hurdles and in bumpers.
The Rock Of Gibraltar four-year-old hurdle and Bumper winner Polished Rock and Back To Bracka (Rudimentary), a winner of two of his six starts, including last time out in a maiden hurdle at Sligo, are also catalogued, as well as the dual purpose Flat winner Silver Shuffle.
Store Horse Section
The August sale is well recognised as a quality source of NH store horses and recent graduates include the multiple Festival Grade 1-placed novice Morning Assembly, who has a very bright future.
Last winter’s Grade 2 and 3 novice chase winner Bright New Dawn rounded off his season with a Grade 1 second in the Powers Gold Cup, while, in February, Real Steel won a Grade 2 novice hurdle at Naas and the consistent Bog Warrior picked up the Grade 2 Webster Cup Chase at Navan in March.
Leading established sires, including last season’s champion NH stallion King’s Theatre, runner-up Oscar, as well as the former champion NH sire Beneficial, Flemensfirth and Milan are all strongly represented, as are young progressive stallions such as Court Cave, Stowaway, Darsi, Craigsteel, Dubai Destination, Morozov, Westerner and Yeats, sire of the top lot at this year’s Derby Sale.

Lot 75: is a Scorpion three-year-old half-sister to one of the leading lights of the past two NH seasons, the ten-time winner, dual Grade 1 winner and Champion Hurdle (G1) third, The New One. The filly is offered by Bushertown and is out of the French Listed third, Thuringe.
Lot 132: is a first foal out of Coolmara (Alderbrook), a half-sister to the nine-time winner and the RSA Chase and DJ Moriarty (G1) hero Cooldine. She is by Westerner and is sold by Oliver Loughlin.
Lot 178: is a Flemensfirth gelding out of the six-time winner and three-time Grade 3-placed Greenflag Princess. She is dam of the winning, Grade 3-placed Kates Benefit. From Ballinvarrig Stud.
Lot 223: is a gelding by Whitmore’s Conn and out of the Listed-winning mare Madame Stella, an own-sister to the French Listed winners Samson and Katoune. From Michael Daly.
Lot 224: from Ballincurrig House Stud, this filly is a Westerner half-sister to the six-time winner and Galway Hurdle (G1) winner Farmer Brown.
Lot 259: is a Kalanisi half-sister to nine-time winner Hello Bud, winner of the Scottish Grand National (G3) from Palace Farm. His dam Orchestral Sport is a dam of three winners from four runners.
Lot 316: is a Court Cave half-brother to the dual Grade 1 hurdle runner-up and four-time winner Fionnegas from Peter Nolan Bloodstock.
Lot 321: is a Presenting gelding out of Uncertain Affair, the dam of ten winners from 11 runners, including Lochbuie, winner of the Geoffrey Freer Stakes (G2), and the Grade 3 Fred Winter Juvenile Hurdle winner Silk Affair. From Mooreshill Farm.
Lot 325: is from Coolamurry Stud and is a four-year-old Ashkalani filly out of Wahiba Hall, the dam of one runner and winner, the Grade 2 chase runner-up Mullaghanoe River. Lot 326 is a three-year-old gelding by Indian River out of the same mare and from the same vendor.
Lot 388: from Grennanstown Stud, this Craigsteel filly is a half-sister to Spring Heeled, a four–time winner and runner-up in the Munster National (G1).
Lot 409: is a Rakti gelding out of Dark Mimosa, a Bahri half-sister to the six-time winner, Triumph Hurdle (G1) and Spring Juvenile Hurdle (G1) hero Our Conor. This is the Dark Mimosa’s first foal and is offered by Springhill Stud.

Lot 540: is a Presenting March-born three-year-old gelding out of a half-sister to the 14-time winner and Gold Cup (G1) winner Denman, Tolworth Hurdle (G1) winner Silverburn and Champion Flat race (G1) runner-up Far Horizon.
Lot 551: from Kerr Stud, this Insatiable gelding is closely related to Remember Rose, a ten-time winner in France, with Grade 1 victories including the Grand Steeplechase de Paris, the Prix Gras Savoye Ferdinand Dufaure and the Prix la Haye Jousselin.

Lot 773: offered by James Purcell, is a Catcher In The Rye filly out of Orchardstown Lady, the dam of four winners, including the five-time winner and Grade 3 runner-up Kings Orchard. It is the further family of Bula.
Lot 776: is a Vinnie Roe half-sister to four-time winner Defy Logic, successful in the Racing Post Novice Chase (G1), and out of a half-sister to multiple Grade 1 winner and Gold Cup (G1) runner-up Strong Promise.
Lot 780: is by Vertical Speed and a half-brother to Macs Flamingo, a six-time winner and winner of the Denny Gold Medal Chase (G3) from Fossabeg Stud.

All store horses catalogued are eligible for 2015 €100,000 Tattersalls Ireland George Mernagh Memorial Sales Bumper run at Fairyhouse Racecourse during the Easter Festival. This year’s winner, Moon Racer was purchased at last year’s August Sale for €5,000.
