MORE GRADED SUCCESS FOR TATTERSALLS IRELAND GRADUATES THIS WEEKEND
On Saturday, the exciting renewal of the action packed Grade 3 Becher Chase at Aintree was won by veteran OSCAR TIME who at thirteen years young cruised to victory under Aintree specialist Sam Waley Cohen.
Owned and trained by Robert Waley Cohen, OSCAR TIME who was previously place in the Grand National, was sold on two consecutive occasions as a youngster at Tattersalls Ireland. Firstly as a foal at the 2001 November National Hunt Sale when sold for 13,500gns by his breeder Edmond Coleman. He was then sold as a yearling at the 2002 November National Hunt Sale by The Flathouse Stud for €22,000. As a three-year-old, the son of Oscar was sold at the 2004 August National Hunt Sale by The Flat House Stud as Agent for €37,000 to MML Bloodstock.
SNAKE EYES displayed a career best performance to land the Listed Handicap Hurdle at Sandown on Saturday for trainer Nicky Henderson and owner JP McManus.
SNAKE EYES passed through the Tattersalls Ireland Sales Ring on two occasions. Firstly when sold as a foal in the November National Hunt Sale by his breeder Aidan Aherne’s Windward House Stud for €19,000 to Redpender Stud. He then reappeared as a three-year-old at the 2011 Derby Sale by Redpender Stud and was sold to MV Magnier for €105,000.
Now unbeaten over hurdles, a multiple bumper and point to point winner, BLACK HERCULES produced a career highlight performance when winning the Grade 3 Novice Hurdle at Cork on Sunday.
BLACK HERCULES, a son of Heron Island and trained by Willie Mullins for Graham and Andrea Wylie, was sold at the 2010 February National Hunt Sale by Maplestown Stud for €3,000 to Emerald Bloodstock.
Paul Nicholls four-year-old LIFEBOAT MONA maintained her unbeaten record when winning the Listed Mares’ Bumper at Huntingdon yesterday. The Kayf Tara mare was a winner of her Point to Point at Tattersalls Ireland in May and has since won her Bumper at Warwick.
LIFEBOAT MONA was sold as a foal at the 2010 November National Hunt Sale by Ballincurrig House Stud for just €600 to Michael Murphy.
