I Am Superman scores in G2 Shannon Stakes

A three-time winner in Ireland, I Am Superman arrived in Australia with his trainer and part-owner Michael O’Callaghan for the inaugural $7,500,000 Golden Eagle last October, the son of Footstepsinthesand was subsequently left with Peter & Paul Snowden to develop his credentials for a future stud career.  

I Am Superman has now returned to his best winning form making it two on the trot when opening his stakes account with a one and a quarter length win in the Group 2 Shannon Stakes at Rosehill on Saturday. Although qualifying for the Epsom Handicap it seems the next target for the four-year-old colt will be the Group 1 Toorak Handicap in just 2 weeks time.

I Am Superman was purchased by Michael O'Callaghan for €49,000 from Danesrath Stud at the 2017 Tattersalls Ireland September Yearling Sale.
