Hat trick of Grade 1’s for Tattersalls Ireland at Punchestown
Grade 1 Novice Hurdle Win for BELLSHILL
€21,000 Tattersalls Ireland November National Hunt Sale graduate BELLSHILL produced a dominating display of jumping at the final flight to secure the Grade 1 Irish Daily Mirror Novice Hurdle. The son of the late King’s Theatre got his head in front of fellow graduate Coney Island who battled to the line and was beaten by half a length.
Bred by Frank Motherway, BELLSHILL was sold as a foal at the 2010 November National Hunt Sale by Yellowford Farm for €21,000 to Ian Ferguson. Coincidently the second place Coney Island was also consigned by Yellowford Farm at the 2011 November National Hunt Sale and sold to John O’Byrne for €34,000.
Gold Cup Triumph for CARLINGFORD LOUGH
CARLINGFORD LOUGH claimed an impressive four and a half length victory when seeing off a high class field to win the Grade 1 Punchestown Gold Cup. John Kiely’s charge added this win to his already impressive CV having now recorded five Grade 1 titles to date.
CARLINGFORD LOUGH, in the colors of JP McManus and guided by Barry Geraghty, was sold at the 2006 November National Hunt Sale by Kenilworth House Stud for €80,000 to John O’Byrne.
