Hat trick of Grade 1’s for Tattersalls Ireland at Punchestown

Grade 1 Novice Hurdle Win for BELLSHILL 

€21,000 Tattersalls Ireland November National Hunt Sale graduate BELLSHILL produced a dominating display of jumping at the final flight to secure the Grade 1 Irish Daily Mirror Novice Hurdle. The son of the late King’s Theatre got his head in front of fellow graduate Coney Island who battled to the line and was beaten by half a length.

Bred by Frank Motherway, BELLSHILL was sold as a foal at the 2010 November National Hunt Sale by Yellowford Farm for €21,000 to Ian Ferguson. Coincidently the second place Coney Island was also consigned by Yellowford Farm at the 2011 November National Hunt Sale and sold to John O’Byrne for €34,000. 

Gold Cup Triumph for CARLINGFORD LOUGH 

CARLINGFORD LOUGH claimed an impressive four and a half length victory when seeing off a high class field to win the Grade 1 Punchestown Gold Cup. John Kiely’s charge added this win to his already impressive CV having now recorded five Grade 1 titles to date.

Carlingford Lough Ptown 53A

CARLINGFORD LOUGH, in the colors of JP McManus and guided by Barry Geraghty, was sold at the 2006 November National Hunt Sale by Kenilworth House Stud for €80,000 to John O’Byrne. 

Hat trick of Grade 1’s completed by BLOW BY BLOW 

BLOW BY BLOW completed a hat trick of Grade 1 wins for Tattersalls Ireland graduates by winning the Grade 1 Attheraces.com Champion Bumper and in doing so gave jockey Katie Walsh her first taste of victory at this level.

Trained by Willie Mullins for Gigginstown House Stud, BLOW BY BLOW was knocked down to Kevin Ross at the 2011 November National Hunt Sale when Coolruss Stud sold the son of Robin des Champs for €11,500. 

Punchestown success for IRISH CAVALIER 

IRISH CAVALIER outclassed opposition when landing the Guinness Handicap Chase for trainer Rebecca Curtis, owner A McIver and jockey Jonathan Moore.

IRISH CAVALIER went through the ring at the 2009 November National Hunt Sale when offered by Greenville House Stud and sold to Larch Hill Farm for just €6,000.
