Group double at The Curragh for Tattersalls Ireland September Yearling Sale

Oaks weekend at The Curragh proved successful for Tattersalls Ireland September Yearling Sale graduates with a Group double on the scoresheet on Saturday.

The David O’Meara trained Larchmont Lad, bought at the 2015 September Yearling Sale, won the Group 2 Friarstown Stud Minstrel Stakes under in-form jockey James Doyle. The son of Footstepsinthesand is owned by Cheveley Park Stud.
Larchmont Lad was sold by Coole House Farm to Peter and Ross Doyle for €110,000.
Marie’s Diamond, trained by Mark Johnston, kept on strongly under pressure to win the Group 3 Jebel Ali Racecourse and Stables Anglesey Stakes, again under James Doyle in the colours of Middleham Park Racing LXXXVI and providing a double for sire Footstepsinthesand on the day.
Marie’s Diamond, who was runner up at the same venue in the Group 2 Railway Stakes on his previous outing, was purchased for just €35,000 by Federico Barberini and Middleham Park Racing from Airlie Stud.
The catalogue for the 2018 September Yearling Sale and Part II, which takes place from September 25 – 27, will be available from next week.
