Group 3 Success for September Graduate A Lilac Rolla

Tattersalls Ireland September
Yearling Sale has unearthed another Classic contender with A Lilac Rolla
showcasing her potential when landing the Group 3 Priory Belle Stakes at Leopardstown.

A
graduate of the 2022 September Yearling Sale, the three-year-old daughter of
Harry Angel showed real courage to win the Group 3 contest for trainer Paddy
Twomey and jockey Billy Lee.

She
was purchased for €40,000 from Castledillon Stud by Amanda Skiffington, and was
adding to her two victories last season. She holds an entry in the Tattersalls
Irish 1,000 Guineas next month, and her trainer was complimentary about his
talented filly afterwards.

Twomey
said: “I think she’s a good filly and I’d hoped she would do something like
that. I didn’t run since August as she just grew and I wanted to give her the
time.

“I
was looking forward to coming here today although the heavy ground was a
concern as her form was on good ground. She’s uncomplicated and she’s tough.”

She
is another talented three-year-old for Paddy Twomey, who also trains the
unbeaten Tattersalls Ireland Breeze Up Sale graduate Purple Lily. The Calyx
filly hold entries in both the Newmarket and Irish 1,000 Guineas.

The Richard Hughes trained
Bracken’s Laugh was another high-profile winning graduate for the September
Yearling Sale on Saturday. The son of Zoffany defied the lack of a recent run
to win the Cardinal Stakes at Chelmsford.

The Bernadine and Sean Mulryan
owned three-year-old was purchased at the 2022 September Yearling Sale for
€55,000 from Jamie Railton by Cormac Farrell Bloodstock.

His trainer stated afterwards
that a step up to 1m2f is next, where the Listed Dee Stakes at Chester is a
likely target, while his main mid-summer target will be the Group 3 Hampton
Court Stakes at Royal Ascot.

The 2024 September Yearling Sale
will take place on the 24th and 25th September. Part 2 is
scheduled to take place on the 26th September.

Inspections for the September
Yearling Sale will commence in the coming weeks.
