Graduate Farren Glory outshines rivals in Grade 1
The son of Fame And Glory was offered at the 2020 Derby Sale by Ballincurrig House Stud for €29,000. Owned by Galway based Niall Earls, Farren Glory is a half-brother to Croke Park, a 2021 Derby Sale graduate and recent Grade 3 winning novice hurdler.
It was an impressive performance from Farren Glory, who was adding to his maiden hurdle win at Clonmel last month, while he had previously won a bumper at Navan last season.
Elsewhere over the weekend, Firefox produced an impressive performance to break his maiden over hurdles. The son of Walk In The Park was purchased for €280,000 at the 2021 Derby Sale by Noel and Valerie Moran’s Bective Stud from Ballincurrig House Stud. The style in which Firefox accounted for the dual bumper winner Ballyburn marked him down as a novice hurdler of serious potential.
The Winter Carnival at Newbury never disappoints in terms of producing exciting, young, talented types, and May Store Sale graduate Inch House looked a very exciting staying chaser.
A point-to-point winner at Dromahane on his sole start between the flags, Inch House was purchased in 2020 from Ullardbeg Stables by Sam Curling for €9,000. He was subsequently purchased for £125,000 at the Tattersalls Cheltenham Sale, and on the evidence of his weekend win, he looks a staying chaser with a big future.
In the point-to-point sphere, there was further success for 2022 Derby Sale graduates. Air Of Entitlement and Tumuch created favourable impressions in four-year-old maidens at Lingstown. Port Joulain and Machismo added to the four-year-old graduate success when landing maidens at Borris House.
Nominations are now being taken for the 2024 Store Sales.
