Grade 2 double tops off a successful weekend for Tattersalls Ireland graduates
It was a successful weekend for Tattersalls Ireland graduates with a huge number of winners across Ireland and the UK topped off by a Grade 2 double at the Cheltenham November Meeting.
On Friday, Fergal O'Brien's COOLANLY claimed the Grade 2 Ballymore Novices' Hurdle, relishing the run in up the famous Cheltenham Hill to win the race by three and a quarter lengths under Paddy Brennan for Five Go Racing. The Flemensfirth six-year-old was sold at the 2012 November NH Sale by John Bourke for €25,000 to Kieran Lennon.
On Sunday, Derby Sale graduate LALOR pulled clear to power home and declare himself as a major player for this season when, on his chasing debut, landed the Grade 2 Arkle Trophy Trial Novices' Chase by seven lengths. Trained by Kayley Woollacott for owner Dave Staddon, the It's Gino gelding was sold by Katie Rudd's Busherstown at the 2015 Derby Sale to Tom Malone for €16,000.
An additional 19 Tattersalls Ireland graduates excelled on the track this weekend including two November NH Sale graduates FIRST ASSIGNMENT, winner of the Listed Handicap Hurdle at Cheltenham and MASTER DEBONAIR, winner of the Listed Standard Open NH Flat Race also at Cheltenham.
