Four Winners on Day Three of the Punchestown Festival for Tattersalls Ireland
Bright day for BRIGHT NEW DAWN
August National Hunt Sale graduate BRIGHT NEW DAWN played a patient game and eased into contention before making his move to win the Three.ie Handicap Chase for the Gold Cup winning partnership of Gordon Elliott, Gigginstown House Stud and Bryan Cooper.
BRIGHT NEW DAWN, who missed his date at the Derby Sale, was offered at the August National Hunt Sale in 2010 by Ardrums House Stud and sold to Margaret O’Toole for €110,000. Prior to this, the son of Presenting was sold at the 2007 November National Hunt Sale by Coolnastud for €50,000 to GM Bloodstock.
Flawless round of jumping for QUANTATIVEEASING lands him the La Touche Cup
QUANTATIVEEASING produced a flawless round of jumping over the cross country obstacles landing him the FBD Cross Country Chase for the La Touche Cup under Mark Walsh for Enda Bolger and JP McManus.
QUANTATIVEEASING went through the ring on two occasions at Tattersalls Ireland; initially as a foal and then as a yearling at the November National Hunt Sale and offered by Rathbarry Stud and Rathmore Stud respectively.
Derby Sale graduate CUP FINAL wins for Henderson
Derby Sale graduate CUP FINAL gave trainer Nicky Henderson his first taste of success at the Punchestown Festival by winning the Murray Spellman Handicap Hurdle with Robbie Power in the saddle for in form owner JP McManus.
Sold at the 2012 Derby Sale, CUP FINAL was knocked down to John O’Byrne for €58,000 and consigned by Ballyhampshire Stud.
Smart Bumper win for Derby Sale graduate INVITATION ONLY
Regarded as a bumper for producing high grade horses, INVITATION ONLY certainly looked like a promising type when winning the Kildare Post Bumper. The son of Flemensfirth boasts plenty of potential and could run over any trip when he goes hurdling next season.
Owned by Graham and Andrea Wylie and trained by Willie Mullins, INVITATION ONLY was initially sold at the 2011 November National Hunt Sale by Mountain View Stud for €17,500 to Scott Mernagh before returning to the 2014 Derby Sale as a three-year-old and selling to Patrick McCormack for €40,000 by Rathyork Stud.
