One of the most impressive and promising hurdlers from the 2013/2014 National Hunt Season is the Nigel Twiston-Davies trained THE NEW ONE. A mere €25,000 purchase at the 2011 Derby Sale, the son of King’s Theatre won his bumper on his debut just five months after he went through the Tattersalls Ireland ring. He then went on to win on four occasions in 2012 as a four year old including the Grade 2 John Smith’s Bumper at the Aintree Festival. In 2013, THE NEW ONE claimed success at the Cheltenham Festival winning the coveted Grade 1 Neptune Investment Management Novices’ Hurdle and in 2014; another prominent Festival success when winning the Grade 1 Doom Bar Aintree Hurdle. To date, THE NEW ONE has earned €540,000 in prize money.
