Fantastic four-timer for Tattersalls Ireland on day 2 of the Cheltenham Festival

It was a fantastic day two of the Cheltenham Festival for Tattersalls Ireland with four graduates claiming victory on National Hunt racing’s biggest stage. 

The day commenced with Derby Sale graduate CITY ISLAND storming home to win the Gr.1 Ballymore Novices’ Hurdle for trainer Martin Brassil, owner Mrs Bernardine Mulryan and jockey Mark Walsh. CITY ISLAND was sold at the 2016 Derby Sale by his breeder Ken Parkhill’s Castletown Quarry Stud to Martin Brassil for €31,000. 


Further success for Tattersalls Ireland came from WILLIAM HENRY in the Gr.3 Coral Handicap Hurdle winning the contest for Nicky Henderson, Nico de Boinville and Walters Plant Hire Ltd. WILLIAM HENRY was sold by Ballincurrig House Stud on behalf of his breeder Michael Carroll at the 2011 November NH Sale to Highflyer Bloodstock for €60,000. 
Joseph O’Brien’s BAND OF OUTLAWS took no prisoners when storming up the famous Cheltenham hill to win the Gr.3 Boodles Juvenile Handicap Hurdle (registered as the Fred Winter). Owned by Justin Carthy and ridden by JJ Slevin, BAND OF OUTLAWS was sold at the 2016 September Yearling Sale by

Kilnamoragh Stud to Sarah O’Brien for €11,000.
