Fantastic Fairyhouse lights up for Tattersalls Ireland Store sale graduate Lord Lariat

Lord Lariat wins the 2022 Irish Grand National

It was another winning weekend for Tattersalls Ireland
graduates at the Fairyhouse Easter Festival headlined by Store sale graduate
Lord Lariat landing the 150th running of the Irish Grand National.

Fairyhouse flourished over the Easter weekend, welcoming
crowds back on course for the Irish Grand National for the first time in two
years. The race got under way to a chorus of ‘ole ole’ from the Fairyhouse
grandstands and the crowd roared home local trainer Dermot McLoughlin’s Lord
Lariat who pinged the final fence to canter to victory. It was the second year
in a row the trainer claimed the €500,000 feature.

Lord Lariat was sold for €5,500 at the August NH Sale by Ace
Bloodstock from Harristown Stables to PJ Casey in 2018. He was also offered at
the November NH Sale by Firhill Stables.

The August NH Sale has had a stellar two weeks with
Aintree’s Grand National winner Noble Yeats also being sourced at the sale.

It was another fantastic renewal of the €100,000 Tattersalls
Ireland George Mernagh Memorial Sales Bumper with fifteen horses going to post.
Icare Desbois stayed on strongly under Jody Townend to lead home a 1-2-3 for
trainer Willie Mullins.

The four-year-old was sold for €28,000 by Liss House to
Harold Kirk and Willie Mullins at the August NH Sale in 2021.

Other winning graduates at the three day Festival included
Capilano Bridge, Defi Bleu, Fox Watch, Hunters Yarn and Whatsavailable.

The first Store sale of the year gets underway in the newly
renovated sales complex at Fairyhouse on Tuesday 10 May. The May Store Sale
catalogue features 230 quality stores and the catalogue is available to view
online at tattersalls.ie.

All horses catalogued for the May Store Sale are eligible
for the €100,000 Tattersalls Ireland George Mernagh Memorial Sales Bumper 2023.
