Derby Sale Victory on Day One of the Cheltenham Festival
By Shirocco, MINELLA ROCCO was sold as a three-year-old at the 2013 Derby Sale by Kilmoney Cottage Stud for €48,000 to John Nallen. MINELLA ROCCO was then sold at the Cheltenham Festival Sale in 2014 for £260,000; and where the hammer fell two years ago, owner JP McManus was handed the trophy on the winners podium at the 2016 Festival. å
The Cheltenham Sale receive a further boost with a win for the December Sale graduate BALLYALTON in the Listed Close Brothers Novices’ Handicap Chase. BALLYALTON was sold by Milestone Stables (Colin Bowe) to Ian Williams for £33,000 following a Point to Point win at Boulta.
Tattersalls Ireland will stage the 2016 Cheltenham Festival Sale on Thursday 17th March after racing at 6.15pm in the Winners Enclosure and the catalogue can be view online at www.tattersalls.ie.
