DERBY SALE GRADUATE COLE HARDEN WINS WORLD HURDLE
COLE HARDEN was following in the hoof-prints of last year’s World Hurdle winner and fellow Tattersalls Ireland graduate MORE OF THAT.
Ballyhampshire Stud sold COLE HARDEN on behalf of his breeder Mrs Josephine O’Callaghan at the 2012 Derby Sale for €13,000 to Grove Stud.
Another Derby Sale graduate enjoyed celebrations in the Cheltenham winners’ enclosure when CALL THE COPS landed the Listed Pertemps Network Final for the meeting’s winning most trainer Nicky Henderson.
CALL THE COPS has been campaigned successfully over hurdles to date with numerous wins to his credit but today’s victory provided him with a career high.
Owned by Matt and Lauren Morgan, CALL THE COPS was bred and sold at the 2012 Derby Sale by Martin Donnellan for €24,000 to S Knowles.
It was another win for Tattersalls Ireland graduates when DARNA, sold at the February National Hunt Sale, got the better of some fancied rivals and won the Grade 3 Brown Advisory and Merriebelle Stable Plate for Gold Cup and Champion Hurdle winning trainer Kim Bailey.
DARNA was sold at the 2007 February National Hunt Sale by Shade Oak Stud on behalf of his breeder, Mr L Fuller for €10,000 to Futureate Ltd.
Tattersalls Ireland graduates dominated the first four places in the Kim Muir Chase with THE PACKAGE storming up the hill in front beating Bless The Wings by 12 lengths into second position. Derby Sale graduates Buddy Bolero and Grand Vision finished third and fourth respectively.
THE PACKAGE, who cost just €10,000 at the November National Hunt Sale, has now won over €200,000 in prize money to date. The son of Kayf Tara was sold by Michael Tallon as a foal.
With one day to go, Tattersalls Ireland graduates have now accumulated eight wins at the 2015 Festival highlighted by victories for FAUGHEEN in the Champion Hurdle, MOON RACER in the Champion Bumper and today’s show stopping performance by COLE HARDEN in the World Hurdle.
