DERBY SALE GRADUATE BARTERS HILL MAINTAINS UNBEATEN RECORD WITH GRADE 2 WIN
BARTERS HILL, owned by “Circle of Friends” and bred by the late Lady Jennifer Fowler, was sold at the 2013 Derby Sale by Rahinston Farm and Stud for €16,000 to Highflyer Bloodstock and trainer Ben Pauling.
AUGUST NATIONAL HUNT SALE GRADUATE THISTLECRACK HAS HIS EYES ON THE WORLD
August National Hunt Sale graduate THISTLECRACK, who came to prominence when winning the Grade 1 Sefton Novices’ Hurdle at Aintree last year, confirmed his position as a leading contender for the World Hurdle at the Festival by commandeering the Grade 2 Cleeve Hurdle at the Cheltenham January Meeting.
Colin Tizzard, whose Gold Cup contender CUE CARD was purchased at the corresponding February National Hunt Sale in 2007, trains THISTLECRACK. John and Heather Snook own the son of Kayf Tara and it was John who purchased him at the 2011 August National Hunt Sale from Derrymore House for €43,000. THISTLECRACK was also sold as a foal at the 2008 November National Hunt Sale by Cobhall Court Stud for €32,000 to John McDonald.
Tattersalls Ireland opens its doors tomorrow, Tuesday February 2nd with the February National Hunt Sale starting at 10am. 307 lots are catalogued which also includes wildcards; Lot 84A, a Yeats colt from Ballinamurragh Stables and Lot 274A a Shirocco filly from Hillcrest Stables.
