Depth and Quality to an Exceptional 50th Derby Sale Catalogue – Marking 50 Years of Excellence

Seven-time Grade 1 winner Jonbon was sold at the 2019 Derby Sale

The much anticipated 50th Derby Sale catalogue is now
available to view online, and includes the siblings of multiple Grade 1
winners, the progeny of top-class race mares and a very strong sire profile. In
total 406 impeccably bred and outstanding individuals will be offered on the
26th and 27th June.

The Derby Sale is recognised as Ireland’s Premier
Store Sale, and graduates of the Derby Sale have and continue to make their
mark in National Hunt racing’s most high-profile races. The previous 49
editions of the Derby Sale have produced more Grade 1 winners than any other
Store Sale.

The Tattersalls Ireland inspection team have worked
closely with vendors to compile a catalogue with the depth of quality that is
warranted for the Derby Sale. The progeny of Grade 1 performers, black type
winners and black type performers in the catalogue far exceeds the offering at
any other Store Sale. It is testament to our vendors that they have supported
Tattersalls Ireland and the Derby Sale as their choice of sale.

The catalogue features the latest three-year-old in
one of National Hunt racing’s most successful families. A DOCTOR DINO (Lot 283)

To mark the 50th anniversary of the Derby Sale, at the
start of the 23/24 National Hunt season, Tattersalls Ireland introduced a
€50,000 loyalty rewards scheme, whereby 10 owners of Derby Sale graduates
received €5,000 to spend at the 50th Derby Sale. Grade 1 winning graduates
included Jonbon, Gerri Colombe, Brighterdaysahead and Grey Dawning. This
catalogue provides a wide array of choice to our clients as they search for
their next Grade 1 performer.

Tattersalls Ireland Derby Sale graduates have also
made a big impact in the point-to-point field this season. The
four-and-five-year-old divisions have produced a number of quality performances
from high calibre Derby Sale graduates. The performances between the flags
matched their pedigrees, and they have delivered subsequently in the sales
ring.

Commenting on the launch of the 50th Derby Sale
catalogue, Tattersalls Ireland CEO Simon Kerins said:

“The Derby Sale has a rich history, and each of the
previous 49 editions have consistently produced impeccably bred, quality
individuals from Ireland’s leading Store vendors. This year, as we mark this
significant anniversary, we’re proud to present a catalogue that is brimming
with the best Stores that Ireland and the UK had to offer. We made every effort
to compile a catalogue that reflected the significance of the 50th Derby Sale,
and I have full confidence that our 2024 graduates will make their mark on the
biggest stage.”

All horses catalogued in the 50th Derby Sale are
eligible to take part in the €100,000 Tattersalls Ireland George Mernagh
Memorial Sales Bumper 2025. The race was won in 2024 by the exciting KOPAK DES
BORDES who was sold by Sluggara Farm to Harold Kirk and Willie Mullins.
