Classic victory for September Yearling Sale graduate Sonnyboyliston

Tattersalls Ireland September Yearling Sale graduate SONNYBOYLISTON claimed victory in the Irish St Leger to give Johnny Murtagh his first Classic win as a trainer. Just over three weeks on from his lucrative £500,000 Ebor Handicap success at York, Johnny Murtagh's charge stepped up to Group One level for the first time under Ben Coen to cap a memorable Longines Irish Champions Weekend. 

SONNYBOYLISTON was sold by Confey Stud for €26,000 to Johnny Murtagh in 2018.

King X J provided trainer Michael O'Callaghan with victory in the €300,000 Tattersalls Ireland Super Auction Sales Stakes on Longines Irish Champions Weekend at the Curragh yesterday. The son of Cotai Glory stayed on well to fight off a late charge by Threebagsfull and secured the winning purse for owner Paul Nolan. 

King X J was offered at the September Yearling Sale by Tally Ho Stud. 

Tattersalls Ireland September Yearling Sale takes place in Park Paddocks, Newmarket on 21-22 September 2021. All yearlings catalogued for the September Yearling Sale and Part II are eligible for the €300,000 Tattersalls Ireland Super Auction Sales Race 2022.
