A remarkable weekend for Tattersalls Ireland Derby Sale graduates
Naas Racecourse proved the perfect venue yesterday for Tattersalls Ireland Derby Sale graduates which saw no fewer than six horses enter the winners enclosure with the most significant success coming from FORGE MEADOW in the Grade 2 Paddy Power Novice Hurdle.
FORGE MEADOW returned to winning ways yesterday to secure an easy eight length win in the Grade 2 Paddy Power Novice Hurdle. The Jessica Harrington trained 5yo mare will most likely be entered into the Mares Novice Hurdle at Cheltenham next month. FORGE MEADOW was sold on two occasions at Tattersalls Ireland, as a foal at the 2013 November National Hunt Sale when sold by Barrettstown Stud to George Mullins for €3,500, and purchased from Ballinaroone Stud for €27,000 by Jessica Harrington and owner Joseph Doyle at the 2015 Derby Sale.
Five other notable Derby Sale graduates that contributed to a successful day's racing at Naas were MORGAN, EDWULF, ALISIER D'IRLANDE (Grade 3), MICK THE JIVER, and MONBEG WORLDWIDE.
On an enormous weekend which saw 12 Tattersalls Ireland Derby Sale graduates achieve victory, RIVER WYLDE ran out the impressive winner of the Grade 2 Sky Bet Dovecote Novices Hurdle at Kempton. With the Willie Mullins trained PLEASANT COMPANYtriumphant in the Grade 3 BobbyJo Chase at Fairyhouse.
