GRADE 1 AND WELSH NATIONAL DOUBLE FOR TATTERSALLS IRELAND

Henry de Bromhead’s four-year-old SIZING JOHN made all and comfortably saw off opposition to win the Grade 1 Future Champions Novice Hurdle on day 2 of the Leopardstown Christmas Festival. The win was one to remember of up and coming young jockey Jonathan Burke as it was the first Grade 1 of his promising career along with the first Grade 1 win for SIZING JOHN’s sire Midnight Legend.

SIZING JOHN, owned by Ann and Alan Potts, was sold as a foal at the 2010 November National Hunt Sale by Ballincurrig House Stud for €16,000 to John Bleahen.

Derby Sale graduate EMPEROR’S CHOICE fought to the line to land the Grade 3 Welsh National at Chepstow in a thrilling finish with fellow Derby Sale graduate Benvolio who took second position.

EMPEROR’S CHOICE was sold at the 2010 Derby Sale by Cushcam Stables for €33,000 to his trainer Venetia Williams.
