Another Grade 1 victory for Derby Sale graduate Gerri Colombe

Derby Sale graduate Gerri Colombe clinched the first Grade 1
of the National Hunt season. The son of Saddler Maker put in a determined
performance and showed great stamina to land the Grade 1 Champion Chase at Down
Royal yesterday for Brian Acheson, Gordon Elliott and Jack Kennedy, making it
his fourth Grade 1 victory.

The seven-year-old was sold at the Derby Sale by Moanmore
Stables for €85,000 to Colin Bowe. He was also sold at the Tattersalls
Cheltenham Festival Sale by Milestone Stables to Mags O’Toole for £240,000.

Online nominations are now being taken for the 2024 Derby
Sale.
