Supreme success for May Store Sale Graduate Slade Steel

The 2024 Cheltenham Festival got off to the best possible
start for Tattersalls Ireland graduates with Slade Steel winning the Grade 1 Supreme
Novices’ Hurdle.

A graduate of the 2021 May Store Sale, Slade Steel displayed
real battling qualities to fend off the challenge of Mystical Power and ran out
a one-and-a-half-length winner.

The six-year-old was adding to a Grade 2 success earlier this
season, and is another high class Store sale recruit for owner Brian Acheson. He
was purchased in May 2021 from Jossestown Farm by Galgystown Stables for
€30,000. 

The son of Telescope was a second Grade 1 winning graduate
this season for the May Store Sale, which is scheduled to take place on the
later date of May 30^th this year.  

Elsewhere on Tuesday’s card, Store sale graduates acquitted
themselves with credit. Telmesomethinggirl found just Lossiemouth too good in
the Grade 1 Mares Hurdle, while Derby Sale graduate Embassy Gardens filled the
runner-up spot in the National Hunt Chase.

Among Wednesday’s graduates are November Nation Hunt Sale graduate
Ballyburn in the Gallagher Novices’ Hurdle, while Derby Sale graduate Jonbon will
seek a sixth Grade 1 victory in the Queen Mother Champion Chase.

Entries are now being taken for the 2024 Store sales.
