Derby Sale 1-2-3-4 in Thyestes Chase at Gowran Park

Tattersalls Ireland Derby Sale graduates dominated the line-up in the Thyestes Chase at Gowran Park today with a 1-2-3-4. Training his first winner of the contest, Gordon Elliott provided the winner and third placed horses. Monbeg Notorious (€30,000 at the 2014 Derby Sale) stayed on strongly to win 11 lengths ahead of Wounded Warrior (€80,000 at the 2012 Derby Sale) for trainer Noel Meade - both owned by Gigginstown House Stud. Space Cadet (€100,000 at the 2013 Derby Sale) in the colours of Chris Jones and trained by Gordon Elliot finished in third and Thunder And Roses (€130,000 at the 2011 Derby Sale), ridden by Lisa O'Neill, trained by Mouse Morris in the Gigginstown colours finishing in fourth. 

Monbeg Notorious was sold as a three-year-old at the 2014 Derby Sale by Ashwood Stud to Monbeg Stables for €30,000. He then went on to win his four-year-old maiden and subsequently sold to trainer Gordon Elliott for £155,000 at the 2015 Cheltenham May Sale.

Tattersalls Ireland will host it's first sale of 2018 with the February National Hunt Sale taking place on Tuesday 30 January starting at 10.30am. The catalogue is on line and packed with potential.
