Exceptional catalogue for the Tattersalls Ireland Cheltenham February Sale online

Cheltenham February Sale

The 2018 renewal of the Tattersalls Ireland Cheltenham February Sale to be staged at 1.30pm on Thursday 15 February has attracted a quality entry of 34 winning and placed point-to-pointers and form horses. The 2017 February Sale offered the unbeaten and subsequent dual Grade 2 winner ON THE BLIND SIDE.

The timing of the sale provides clients with the first opportunity to purchase four-year-old point to pointers in the new season.

Entries for the sale include Lot 17 the highly impressive debut 4yo Maiden winner ENVOI ALLEN. The son of Muhtathir created a big impression when quickening up after the last to win going away in fine style by 10 lengths at Ballinaboola on Sunday for handler Colin Bowe and owner Walter Connors. The winning debutant hails from the same academy as the unbeaten SAMCRO.

Lot 22 WELL SET UP looks sure to attract a lot of attention. The 5yo daughter of Gold Well could not have been more impressive when running away with the NH Flat Race at Down Royal on 31 January for trainer Mark Fahey and jockey Richie Deegan. Held up towards the rear she caught the eye in running throughout. She made good progress 3f out and was ridden to assert and win going away in the final furlong by 11 lengths. A half sister to the unbeaten Nicky Henderson trained ON THE BLIND SIDE, a graduate of this sale last year she looks a top class prospect in the making.

DLAURO (Lot 33) a 5yo son of Lauro produced a dominant display when bolting up at the first time of asking in the 5yo Geldings Maiden at Belharbour on Sunday. The Donnchadh Doyle trained inmate produced a number of prodigious leaps in the hands of Rob James and sauntered clear from 2 out to win with any amount in hand.

The first foal of the high class MOSKOVA - MOYHENNA Lot14 is a proven track performer to note. She is now the winner of her bumper at Punchestown on New Year’s Eve and her Maiden Hurdle at the same venue on 30 January. The daughter of Westerner showed a great attitude when running out a game winner of her Maiden hurdle for trainer / jockey Denis Hogan over the minimum trip the last day. She has progressed with each run, comes from a very good family and looks a potentially top class mare in the making over obstacles.
